Good Enough #1 - Procrastination and Getting Started

🪵 From the Workshop — Starting to get down to documenting the journey of converting a section of our two-car garage into a workable woodshop. I know that it’s been quite a few weeks, longer than that, but we’re not going to talk about it. Perhaps it was just me not wanting to get back out there and finish up the cleanup, maybe it was just my professional procrastination, whatever it may be, it is going to end.

I’m just about ready to get started with building projects, and the only obstacle is clearing out the somewhat disorganized pile in the middle of the garage. This is also the first edition of the newsletter. I'm working on bringing a more weekly digest-like experience to further offer more to subscribers. This will be a weekly newsletter that will grow and change, as I and everyone here are a work in progress.

🔧 Tool/Tip of the Week — One of the biggest items that has gotten me over the hump of getting organized is the Bora Wall Rack that I installed a few weeks ago. I wanted to get the wall prepped from the peeling paint and get around to painting the wall before installing the rack.

I’ve stored just about all of the loose long boards I’ve had lying in different places throughout the garage. Many of it was the 2” x 4”’s that had made up the old workbench. Many of these pieces are going to make up either the new mobile workbench or the miter saw station. The only issue, which wasn’t the fault of the rack, was trying to use a dull mortar drill bit on the cinder block wall. For what could have been a five-minute job turned into a thirty-minute affair, and aching shoulders.

📡 Tech for Makers — We’re continuing to see more AI being used in places that more than likely don’t need to be used. Amazon Ads will launch two Twitch Sponsorship tools. Essentially will be going over what is said and done during your stream, prompting you to change tone, what needs to be said, and more.

Amazon Ads to launch two AI Twitch Sponsorship tools at Twitchcon. Campaign Assist will analyze how creators speak during sponsorships and prompt them on what they need to say, change tone, etc. Chat Sentiment Analysis will process all chat messages to determine reactions.

This AI will also see what your chat is doing during the ad reads, so it not only gives you prompts on what to say, don’t be mean, but also directs you to potentially change your community's behavior. We’ll eventually learn more about what all of this means during Twitchcon Europe this coming weekend.
