Oh, hello there! I am just getting started on creating the workshop.
What I am actually going to be doing is moving all this stuff out of the way so I can get the wall painted. Why don't you join me? Let's go!
Step One: Clear the Clutter
Like with any good project, it requires a little bit of, how we say, clearing a lot of junk out of the way. I had a lot of stuff in front of the wall that I originally had pulled away and then put back.
As you can see from the prep work, I was sanding down a drywall section because a lot of the old paint was coming off, just flaking away. I wanted to get most of that, or pretty much all of it, off of the wall.
Now the concrete side of things was a little bit more difficult. It was textured concrete and that provided a bit of a challenge, so I did not do much with that.
Spray Painting: Spray and Pray
As you can see, my technique is well... it is just kind of a spray and pray situation. There is really no real thought to it and no professional way of doing it, because this is the first time I have tackled something like this.
Yeah, a lot of learning happened here. I will mention that the air compressor was probably not the best tool for this job. I had to start and stop constantly, waiting for the compressor to build back up before continuing on again. But hey, that is a note for past me.
The Results
Alright, so the wall has been painted. Actually, not too bad for somebody doing spray painting with an air compressor for the first time. I did learn a couple of things along the way, as you do with any first-time project.
For one, four gallons in an air compressor is probably not enough to do one whole section without waiting for it to fill back up. So it is what it is, but honestly, it is not too bad.
Now, yes, you are probably going to write in the comments that the wall looks horrible. It does. But you know what? For me, it works.
Wrapping Up Phase One
I did get started on organizing the scrap wood pile and trying to get things a little bit more organized in here. All in all, phase one is pretty much done, and I am happy with it.
There is still a pile of stuff that you cannot really see on camera that has got to get taken care of and organized a little bit more. Other than that, the workshop is continuing to get built out, slowly but surely. It will get there.
With that, later taters.
