If you’re looking for an affordable clamp multimeter you’ve come to the right place. The Etekcity MSR-C600 has quite a few handy features and will serve your current measuring needs well. Especially if you are tinkering with appliances, heaters, airconditioning units, cars etc. Right out of the box it feels well-built and and comes with good quality probes and a carrying case. It will be a good addition to your toolbox, even if you already have another multimeter.
The MSR-C600 has an easily readable display, a sturdy setting nob and big buttons. Test probes are flexible, a decent length (35.2′ / 894mm) and comes with a good insulation. No worries about using it according to it’s CAT II 600V and CAT III 300V ratings. The clamp mechanism feels well built, with a spring return function and will work on countless clamp-on measurings. On these measurings you will have the possibility to hold the reading or see max value with an easy press of a button.
While it can measure most, be aware that it will not do DC current. Also it is recommended to buy a line splitter like this one, for easing the measuring of appliances connected to a power outlet.
While the MSR-C600 is great, multimeters is not all that Etekcity does. Etekcity is a company that supplies some different unrelated products. In their “practical” category they have products from intelligent outlets and portable lights to multimeters and IR thermometers.
